I got this book from a company in Singapore. It has been quite a while I didn’t write any review on books even though I read extensively. This book is the first book I read on the topic of FOREX trading.

The Lunchtime Trader Book
The Lunchtime Trader - the book is not as thick as shown in the picture 🙂

The Lunchtime Trader is written by Winston Ng, the CEO of Forex Driving School. He quit university when he was able to trade for a living.

As most books printed in Singapore, this book is well-printed with many pages of full colour print, consist of charts and probably 60% text content.

First and foremost, as written by the author, one can’t learn to swim just by reading books. You can’t simply read some books on swimming and then expect yourself to be able to swim right away. If you do that, you may be drowning in just a few minutes after jumping into a deep pool. So he set the expectation right that you can’t expect to be able to trade successfully by just reading this book.

Anyway, I do think that the content is well written using simple language. Winston does give you a trading plan that consists of four critical steps:

  • Step 1 – D for Direction
  • Step 2- P for Patterns
  • Step 3 – P for Profits
  • Step 4 – Trade entry and beyond

The last section covers the top eight common trading FAQs including

  • Why do I need to practise for one year with a small account? Can’t I just use your strategy and execute straightaway?
  • Why must I make 50 trades within a six months period?
  • What happens when I plan everything and it goes against all the plans?

Frankly speaking, I never trade on FOREX. It is not that I don’t believe that one can earn money by trading actively. I know some people who earn a fulltime income just by trading at home. The reason that I don’t trade is that it is just not my cup of tea. I enjoy creating and producing stuff. I just save my effort to do what I do best and love.

So if you hate what you are doing now and would like to learn how you can trade on your free time and ultimately quit your job, this book is a recommended head start.

The good news is that I’ve strike a deal with the company to give the first 20 buyers 50% discount. The book purchase also comes with a free preview seminar. The coming seminar will be held in Penang on 30 Jan 2011. The seats are filling up fast, but they have reserved 5 seats just for my readers who purchase the book through the following method:

How to get this book

All you need to do is:
