We must start recognising what modern child slavery really is before we can stop it and stop it we must!!! Bloody hell…
The school system the world over is flawed – not just in your country. We are all guilty of child slavery. How many of us have really spoken out and acted for our kids demanding a fairer way for them to be treated in schools???
Not many and not enough of us have spoken out because we too were the victims of child slavery when we were in school. Now, we are so conditioned to run our rat race that we have normalised the whole situation. We are numbed to it. And we are scared as hell that our kids do not conform and comply and do what everyone else is doing. We are so scared that we spend most of our income on giving them the ‘best’.
The best of what??? The best of child slavery? Sending them to the ‘best’ schools? Giving them the ‘best’ education by sending them from one tuition class to another back to back???
Straight A’s
Come on! Our kids do not need straight A’s to survive in this world. Straight As are not going to cut it. We need more than schools in order to prepare our kids for the real world. In a real world where the lack of financial
independence and financial knowledge and financial education will enslave us, the excess of A’s and good grades in their report cards will not free us.
Even if our kids produce mediocre results in schools (not because they are not being self-responsible or disciplined but simply because they are not mathematically gifted or academically talented) that does not mean they will not do well in life. If we pass on to them the right values and discipline in managing their life and their money, they can still be relatively successful in life.
Many of the most successful people in life are not necessarily the most gifted. IQ is just part of the equation. EQ is another part and the bigger part. And EQ is made up of having the right values in life – not IQ. And we must be smart enough to know that. Most often than than, people who fail to realise this simple fact are people with the most outstanding IQ! Think about that for a moment before proceeding to the next paragraph.
Stopping
Have we ever thought of stopping this crazy mindless game that we play in our mind and our kids’ lives and start building our financial position solidly and not spend unnecessarily on their tuition classes and formal education? Maybe it is time we stop it. And when we stop it, we will have more time – no need to work extra to 
send them to extra classes. Our kids will have more time – no need to chase for straight As. Hence both parents and kids have more time to spend together.
Do not know what to do with the extra time you will spend with your kids? That’s the problem! We forgot that the most important form of education for our kids is to learn the right values form their parents. They learn this by spending time with their parents. By observing their parents go about their business and life.
By showing our kids we are constantly learning and improving ourselves no matter what we do, we are already passing on to them the most valuable lessons in life. Of course all this is based on the assumption that the parents know what the hell they are doing and are living by the right values and core beliefs lah!
Better start educating ourselves so that our kids will get the best of education about life. Of course before we start doing that, we must stop that nonsense sending our kids to endless tuition classes!
Stopping child slavery starts from the home!!!
