I’d invested in P2P lending for around 7 years.
Simply put, P2P lending platforms are places where I would earn higher interest from lending money to SMEs who need faster working capital for their business purposes. While I’d collected interests from most of my borrowers, I’ve also lost money from a few SMEs that had defaulted on their loan repayments partially.
As most lendings are not collateralized, my losses are almost “permanent”. But, the above doesn’t have to be you.
Lately, I found Capsphere, a platform that facilitates “asset-backed financing” to SMEs in Malaysia. Here, SMEs would need to offer their assets as “collateral” to obtain financing. If they fail to meet their loan repayments, the collateral would be disposed of to repay their lenders. This prevents lenders from losing all their capital from lending to that particular SME.
During this webinar, Mr. Yoon Jun Jie and Mr. Ngam Wei Quan, Capsphere’s CEO and Business Development Analyst shared with us the following:
– Introduction of Capsphere
– What is Asset-Based P2P financing?
– Capsphere Safevesting and how it works
– What makes Capsphere different from other platforms?
