Hello! I want to get into investing in the S&P500 and also the World Index.
From my research I found out that I can either go the index fund route or the ETF route.
As a Malaysian investor, what is the most cost effective way to invest in these (long term) and which brokers allow me to invest in the foreign markets?

Most of the foreign stock brokers allow you to buy ETF (as it is traded on the stock market like a stock).
The easiest way to get exposure might be through your local brokers in Malaysia that provide trading of foreign stocks (Maybank, CIMB, Hong Leong etc.). The commission is higher. But if you don’t trade frequently, and keep for long term, this is the easiest route to take.
Another option is to buy the Malaysia ETF listed in Bursa, which you can buy through any of the local brokers. There are some ETFs that has exposure to US market, like the MyETF Dow Jones US Titans 50
