Q & ACategory: InvestmentEnquiry regarding Foreign telegraphic transfer

Hi kc, I’d like to consult with you regarding the wire transfer. Since Malaysia bank will have the wire transfer sender’s name in accordance to NRIC for example ( TAN XIAO MING ), but usa based broker will bear the receiver name (XIAO MING TAN ) since our surname is their last name and given name is their first name. So will I encounter rejected fund due to mismatched name or they will accept as along as the alphabet are correct irrespective to the arrangements?

Last but not least, when file for foreign document , let say in your case will you place TAN as last name and XIAO MING as first name which will give XIAO MING TAN at last?

Thanking you in advance

Hope to hear from you soon, glad to be one of your reader ! 🙂

The name orientation shouldn’t be a problem.
To avoid complication, you can tell the local bank personnel who handle your transfer to put your name as FIRST NAME LAST NAME
In the US, Tan will be the last name. Xiao Ming is the first name.
