Q & ACategory: OthersLife Restart To Achieve Finance Portfolio
NG YIAW CHENG asked 6 years ago

Hi KCLau,
I used to reside in Singapore for 25 years and given up my PR since 2018 and I came back to Kuching due to personal reason that totally cut of my income since. My Tax Assessment in Singapore still valid till 2019 with zero income. And I had not filed any LHDN with Malaysia my whole life (going to do so since the stimulus is out).

My credit with Credit Bureau Singapore have score of AA. And totally no record with e-CCRIS as well as MyCreditInfo Experian.

I wishes to get a low cost house joint name with my mother since I don’t own a single property in Kuching while still renting that depleting my RM50k on hand in my Malaysian bank account. How should I build my finance portfolio in order for me to have easy access with the bank loan and so on?

I think the easiest way to have a relationship with banks is to become their premier customer. You can start with a few hundred thousands ringgits Fixed Deposit with the bank of your choice. And they will probably offer you credit cards and some other investment like unit trusts. With the first credit card, you will build your CCRIS record.
