Since this decade started, many homeowners installed solar PV systems on their rooftops. Upon installation, they saw a substantial cut in their monthly TNB bills. It is a one-time investment that has years in payback period.
Apart from homes, solar PV systems are now popular among business owners. Corporations are installing theirs on rooftops of factories, shoplots and warehouses. With greater capacities, business owners aim to achieve greater cost savings on their TNB bills.
I first featured Verdant Solar four years ago. It was focused on installing solar PVs for homeowners in the Klang Valley. Since then, it expanded quickly to cater for greater residential demand for solar PV systems. Soon, it became the record holder for the most home solar PV systems installed in Malaysia. It was a record held by The Malaysia Book of Records in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In that period, it expanded into both the commercial and industrial sectors across Malaysia.
As I write, it is close to being listed on Bursa Malaysia. What a journey it had!
