Free online class · Bursa Malaysia · SGX · HKSE
Ian Tai has read more than 10,000 annual reports. In this free class he walks you through the exact way he picks the stocks that pay him, quarter after quarter, without charts, without broker reports and without a single stock tip.
Dividends collected
Dividend growth, first full year to 2025
3.9× 87.0 ¢ → 336.6 ¢ per share
Yield on cost climbs by the same multiple. The price you paid never changes, so every rise in the dividend lifts the return on the money you first put in.

Sound familiar
Ian did not either. He downloaded his first one, a bank, read it, and could not tell that bank apart from any other bank on the exchange. So he closed it and stayed out of the market for years. If any of these are you, this class was built for you.
You want to start, but you do not know what a good stock actually looks like.
So you wait. Cash sits in a savings account earning less than inflation, and another year of dividends goes by without you.
You bought on a tip from a friend, a forum or a WhatsApp group.
Buying stocks on tips is the single most common way people lose money in the market. Ian explains in the class exactly why the maths works against you.
You are holding losers and you are not sure whether to cut or add.
There is a way to tell the difference. It starts with knowing what the business is worth, not what the chart is doing.
Inside the class
Bring a notebook. You will have things worth writing down.
After compiling a decade of numbers on more than 1,000 stocks, Ian found one plain pattern that links a company's results to where its share price ends up over the long run. It takes him two minutes to explain and it changes how you read every counter after that.
The counter behind the statement above. Ian shows you the business, the ten years of numbers, the balance sheet and the price he paid, then why he pressed buy and what it has paid him every quarter since.
Ian never guesses whether a stock is a bargain. He runs two simple ratios against that company's own ten year history. You will see both calculated in front of you, on real figures, with nothing hidden.
Annual reports read the same way in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. Once the process clicks on Bursa, the same five steps travel with you to SGX and HKSE. New market, same homework.
Ian names the counter behind that statement and walks the numbers, line by line.
Save my free seatThe process
Ian runs every candidate through the same five checks in the same order. In the class he walks a real company through all five, start to finish, so you can see how a decision actually gets made.
What the company actually sells, who pays it, and whether that can keep going.
Ten years of sales, profits and dividends. Consistency matters more than any single good year.
The balance sheet today. Can it fund its own growth, or is it running on borrowed time.
Where the next few years of earnings come from, in the company's own words.
The price. A good business at the wrong price is still a poor investment.
The five headings are simple. Knowing what to look for under each one is the skill, and that is what the class is for.
Watch all five run on one real company, start to finish.

Who is teaching
Ian was 18 when a classmate handed him a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad. It sent him into investment books, and those books told him the same thing: buy great businesses when they are cheap. Simple enough. Then he opened his first annual report and could not make sense of a single page.
So he signed up for ACCA, specifically to learn how to read financial statements. While he studied, he practised on real companies. He started with the easy ones, Nestlé, Dutch Lady, Panasonic, then worked his way into banks, property, oil and gas and construction. He built spreadsheets of ten year results and share prices, company after company.
More than 10,000 annual reports across 1,000 plus stocks later, one pattern kept showing up. Everything Ian teaches today is built on it.
Today every stock he holds pays him a dividend, yielding roughly 2% to 9% a year, which means money lands in his account in eight or nine months out of twelve. He built the whole thing without a single chart, broker report or buy call.
In their words
1,073 people have joined Dividend Vault, the programme Ian built after this class. These are some of them, in their own words, unedited.
Through the course, I now have a better understanding of assessing a good company through its financial statements instead of relying on stock tips and speculation.
The DV programme has been very helpful and informative, especially to a complete newbie like me.
A step-by-step guide on how to evaluate strong companies with a good track record.
Although it was a scary period for most investors, I was confident in selecting some good stocks based on the data compiled in this programme.
Every one of them started with this same free class.

Ian would rather you spend your time somewhere useful. He is a dividend investor, not a trader, and the class only covers what he actually does.
Quick capital gains
Buy at one ringgit, sell at two, as fast as possible. Ian does not know how to do that, and he believes wealth in the market gets built slowly and on purpose.
Trade alerts and buy or sell calls
No tips, no rumours, no target prices. Every decision in this class comes from official documents: annual reports, quarterly reports, press releases and investor presentations.
Charting software and technical tools
Ian earns recurring dividends from a portfolio. He does not earn trading profits from trading, so none of that toolkit appears here.
Someone to invest on your behalf
The point is to hand you the skill so you can build the portfolio you want. You stay your own fund manager and you own every decision, along with every profit and every loss.
Still sounds like your kind of investing? Come and sit in.

Before you register
Sixty minutes. Ian uses the whole hour, so pick a session where you can sit down properly with a notebook rather than half watch it between other things.
A few thousand ringgit is a sensible starting point. Below that, brokerage and transaction costs eat too large a share of what you put in for the numbers to work.
Your link shows on screen the moment you register, so you can save it there and then, and it is emailed to you as well. Miss your session and you simply book another one.
Yes. Ian starts from what a business is and why it pays you, and works up from there. He could not read an annual report either when he started.
Yes, the whole session is in English. The examples are Malaysian and Singaporean companies, so the names will be familiar to you.
Yes, and we would rather tell you now than surprise you. In the last part Ian shows you Dividend Vault, the programme he and KC built, so you can see what actually happens inside it and judge whether it fits you. There is no obligation to sign up. The class stands on its own and the whole process is yours to keep either way.
One seat, no cost
Sit down with Ian, watch him take one real company apart, and leave knowing how a dividend portfolio actually gets built. Nothing to pay and nothing to prepare.
