It is about time that Venture Capital (VC) and private equity funds were recognised as an asset class by the pension funds and insurance companies in Malaysia. if you are living in Malaysia and not a tech savvy person, you might not have heard about VC before.

What is Venture Capital?
This is a type of equity investment usually best suited for rapidly growing companies that require a lot of capital or start-up companies with a strong business plan. A typical venture capital investment usually requires sale of 25% to 55% of the company to the investor.

In short, when you are expanding your business and lack financial resources, VC is the private investor whom you can ask for funding.
