All the info-graphics on 10 steps to this, 10 steps to that, 5 keys to success, 10 ways to attract more traffic to your site… etc tend to generate a lot of attention – on the internet. People are always looking for the tips to this, tips to that as if this time, they might stumble upon some top secrets to achieve success. It’s like, “OK this is it! This time, surely I will nail it!” So they go on and on buying book after book, attending seminar after seminar, enroll and participate in countless courses…
Here’s a reality check.
The truth is most of us, would have already known the steps. As long as we are not brain-deficient or intellectually-challenged, we would have all known the steps/secrets/keys we see in all these attractively advertised and cleverly promoted seminars and workshops.
What you think you need to find out (those ’10 steps’, or ‘5 top secrets’… etc) is actually already within your knowledge.
So, you actually need not pay so much to listen to what you already know.
What you think you need not be told another time, which is also what you think you have already known well enough already, is actually what you need to be told a few times more. Also, it may well be that you actually do not know this thing as well as you would have thought.
You may know it intellectually but maybe not experientially. It is not yet in your experience. If only you had known it by experience, you would be phenomenal in whatever you are doing.
What is this thing?
This thing is called the basics. The basics is the simplest to understand but the most difficult to master. Why? it takes lots of patience, persistence and even pain to do the basics over and over again. But once you have mastered the basics, everything else will happen more in the way you want it to happen. Take care of the basics first and you will have more control over the results of your actions.
