Recently sitting in a restaurant, my buddy, commented on the few articles I have written before at KCLau.com; “Sayeed, why are you so materialistic. You wanna have big house, big car, million ringgit, various properties, just to show others, and how well you want to do!?” he continued, “Is this a satisfaction to you?, or show off to others of what you’ve got?”. Well, being a friend of mine, I didn’t really expect him to ask such a question, but to a certain extent he was really looking at the other side of coin that I have not seen yet. I knew that the reason I shared my story in earlier blog was to give hope and support to others that if I suffered, yet able to do it, so can you, and also put in a few strategies that may help others. Well, good, at least his question had me to share an interesting concept, on reasons why I want to have a Million.
Well as we promised on the “window shopping final decision” will be negotiated base on our financial standings. Well, the property cost $1.6M and there is a maintenance fees; of course we would need to relook at our utility bills etc too. So checking with the bank, it would cost us about 6.8k monthly on mortgage, which means easily with all in (utilities and maintenance), it is $7.5k a month for next 30 years ?!!. Well okay, base on our household income, we are still OK to have $7.5k put aside for the property + put aside for a car reimbursement + other monthly expenses, at the end of the day, we would still have monthly savings going into our accounts provided my wife keeps her business income coming at the minimum range as per what she have been doing for the past one year. So, do we decide to move on with this investment??!!
Have we come across people who have unfinished business in their personal lives and / or uncompleted a goal or target that they were working on? Every time, we encounter people and even ourselves, have been in situation where we set a goal but left it uncompleted. I have met people working on their business later called off, people working on career goals later gave up and the most famous people working on diet later forgot about it totally.
