Value-added services in the form of jobs or business loans soon await people who seek advice and counselling from Credit Counseling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK). However, do remember that AKPK is in no way trying to branch out into a recruitment agency or a financial institution.
Through collaboration with recruitment agencies, AKPK will establish stronger cooperation with financial institutions and micro-credit agency. People who have lost jobs or are looking for jobs will be referred by AKPK to its partner agencies. Likewise, AKPK also intends to refer its clients interested to start small businesses to micro-financing institutions to get loans. While AKPK assists with these, it in no way guarantees jobs or loans.
AKPK’s plans for 2009 also includes incorporating financial education in Friday khutbah (sermon) at mosques and making financial education as a compulsory part of pre-marriage courses. This will be dealt with in due course in consultation with the relevant government bodies.
