The Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Index is one of the 30 Shariah-compliant indexes. According to Shariah, a Muslim can’t invest in businesses involved in advertising or media (although newspapers are allowed), alcohol, conventional banking, gambling, pork, pornography and tobacco.
