Malaysians Slow on Planning Retirement

In the survey carried out by research house Synovate, 313 working people aged 25 and above and 319 retirees aged below 75 in urban areas Malaysia were interviewed over the telephone. EPF To Invest Additional US$2 billion in Foreign Equities

Finance Ministry has approved EPF (Employee Provident Fund) to invest another US$2 billion in equities overseas. The total fund approved so far for investment in foreign equities amounts to US$6 billion (RM18.7 billion). EPF is managing RM319.3 billion as at the end of January 2008. This means 5.8% of EPF are allocated for foreign equities investment. For full story, refer here. At the point of writing this, members who withdraw EPF account 1 for unit trust investment are only offered 100% local unit trust funds which solely invest locally.
