Lower Service Charge for Balanced Funds

In the past five years investment performance, a managed balanced fund in Malaysia is giving an industry average return of 10.43% per annum. I got the figure from the latest Personal Money Magazine October 2007 issue. Most balanced funds, or mixed asset funds charge a front load of 6.5%, which is equal to what is loaded on equity funds investment. Beyond Savings: EPF provides more flexibility

It is a welcomed move from Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to allow contributors to withdraw part of their funds and channel them to approved investment programmes. As reported at The Star: Under the new scheme, contributors, irrespective of age, will be able to withdraw from Account One what is in excess of a “required amount” of savings as determined by the EPF and invest the money in unit trusts. Public Bank launched its first China fund, PB China Pacific Equity Fund on 23 October 2007 (Tuesday). PB China Pacific Equity Fund (PBCPEF) will invest mainly in China stocks and the balance in North Asian markets such as Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
